He's constantly experimenting with new recipes, whether that means simmering ramen broth for 24 hours, or smoking pastrami for amazing sandwiches. When Tyler met Megan, a lawyer and a good cook with roots in Hawaii, she introduced him to Hawaiian food, including her all time favorites: Poke Bowls and Kalua Pork. Tyler took Megan's recipes and perfected them. After years of cooking professionally in local restaurants, Tyler decided it was time to start his own business serving the Hawaiian recipes he carefully develops. Thus, Kaliko's Hawaiian Kitchen came to be! Now in the third year of operation, Kaliko's Hawaiian Kitchen has grown to vend at large events including music festivals and state fairs and operate a small restaurant in downtown Nevada City.

We take a tremendous amount of pride in the quality and taste of our food. All of the dishes we serve are recipes that we create and develop ourselves using high quality ingredients, organic and fresh as much as possible. We are so pleased that our customers consistently return to our booth and restaurant to order more food and rave to us about how good the food is.
POKE BOWLS
Our specialty dish is our Poke Bowl. Poke is traditionally made from cubed Ahi Tuna that is marinated in shoyu and sesame oil. Our poke is the recipe we love to eat: a shoyu poke with mac nuts and sriracha aioli drizzle-- the perfect blend of salty, sweet, and spicy. In 2018, our Poke Bowl was a hit with customers at High Sierra Music Festival, Truckee Thursday, Dry Diggings, and many, many more festivals and fairs. Our Poke Bowl is easily our #1 seller.

KALUA PORK
Kalua Pork can be found at every luau in Hawaii. Our Kalua Pork is made from high quality pork, slow roasted, extremely tender, and full of flavor! We do not use liquid smoke, our smokey flavor comes from the way we cook our pork and the ingredients we use!
We serve our Kalua Pork on rice, topped with our mango-pineapple chutney and spicy chili cream sauce.

OUR MOBILE FOOD BOOTH/POP-UP TENT
We sell our food across California and beyond in our mobile food booth and tent. We specialize in large events including multi-day music festivals, state fairs, street fairs, aloha festivals, and large community gatherings. We are able to serve hundred to thousands of people during a single event. Our booth is like a mobile kitchen, allowing us to set up a full service "restaurant" on-site anywhere we go. Unlike a food truck or trailer, our booth size is adaptable, and we are able to vend in a 10x10 ft footprint all the way up to a 10x30 ft (and all the various configurations in between).
